About

When I’m not writing books, working with leaders and teams from various corporate and non-profit organizations or speaking at events, I am a Professor at the Lucerne School of Business and a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Management, Technology and Economics at ETH Zurich (where I was the founding Managing Director of the Swiss School of Public Governance from 2016-2020 and launched a program for future global public sector leaders).

I am a regular keynote speaker and podcast guest, primarily in continental Europe, the UK, and the US, but occasionally further afield as well.

I am a contributor to Forbes and have also written for outlets such as Fast Company, Big Think, and Business Insider. My book The Unseen Leader was an Amazon #1 best-seller in two categories and has been praised by thought leaders such as Adam Grant, Marshall Goldsmith, and Erin Meyer.

My TED talk “Are We Celebrating the Wrong Leaders” has been viewed and listened to over 2 million times (as of four months post-launch) across various channels.

I have a Ph.D. in history from the Maxwell School at Syracuse University, USA, an Executive MBA from IE Business School, Spain, and higher education teacher’s training from Harvard University, USA, and ETH Zurich, Switzerland.

I don’t tweet or post on Instagram (where do people find the time?) but if I did, it would probably be about my fruitless quest to bake the perfect sour-dough bread, my obsession with all things mountain (running, biking, skiing and climbing) and the various shenanigans of my three kids.
